Asus laptop built-in webcam upside down

I use an Asus laptop. My built-in webcam was working fine until recently. Now it shows upside down. I had recently updated a lot of drivers. So, I rolled back the driver (Control Panel\Device Manager\Imaging devices... and it works properly now.)
I am using Windows Vista.
If you are having a similar problem in Windows XP with a built-in webcam on an Asus laptop, try rolling back the driver.

I found a lot of info relating to this problem on Linux, and the solution there was to re-program something.

Windows XP: Search for LiveCam in the BisomCam directory under Windows. Run the LiveCam.exe and choose Option -> View Capture Filter and check the vertical box under Rotation. Problem solved.

After lots of hours searching for driver to fix my upside down Asus X53Ka built in camera (D-MAX, PID-5A35) on my Windows Vista 64bit platform, and having no success, i finnally found universal solution, which should work on any laptop having same problem, so i hope everybody who has the same problem can use this tip.

The work around is to use virtual camera - there are some of them, but i like ManyCam most - as it is free, does not add any unnecessary ads on video, does rotating (180 degree), flipping (vflip , hflip just fine) and works well with both skype, Gtalk and all other programs, when you choose manycam camera.

Chelsea - try updating the driver (from the Asus site for your laptop - if there is an update), or try manycam.com

Find the type of the webcam from the properties of the laptop. Then search for corresponding driver in the website and reinstall it. This worked for my laptop Asus with windows 7 o/s. Wishing you the best luck.

I'm not sure what you mean by either question.
1) there is no issue of erasing memory in this post.
2) by "drive" do you mean "driver"?

Please read all the document, Thanks....

I HAVE RESOLVED a problem with my ASUS X59SL The image of my web cam was up side down.

I have simply download the original driver from asus support and followed the instruction you can found at this link

this link is only a guide see the other link.

http://support.asus.com/faq/asus-faq.aspx?SLanguage=en-us&no=02B6B989-4468-5237-CB04-BCF5B9FE9714

I understood that the Web camera are supplied from different companies so are lots of different makes of web cam that will be mounted to this make of notebook and for this reason when you will go to the asus support center for downloading the driver you will see lots of different drivers.
So you need to look in your system what driver you really need for a correct installation.

manycam worked perfectly, thank you!! I have a P501j and had the upside down problem when running my web cam through facebook, skype, etc. But Virtual Camera alone wouldn't even open! I tried new drivers, rolling back the driver, changing, changing compatibility to running in 256 colors. Manycam was the only thing that has worked!

Problem: After installing Windows 7 on an Asus laptop, the built in camera output is upside down / inverted.

Reason: This is a well known problem with Asus laptop. It seems that the generic camera driver in Windows 7 is not compatible with Asus' camera. I have here an Asus K501J series laptop and when I view my camera in Yahoo Messenger, the output is upside down.

Solution: Download the updated driver from Asus support site. Search for your laptop model, and try every camera driver listed. There are usually 4 camera drivers listed/available. So, if the first did not work, try the next one.

Solution 2: Edit Windows Registry. Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sunplus SPUVCb\VIDEOPROCAMP. Change VFlip value to 1.

Solution 3: If you're having problems in downloading your webcam driver, download and install ManyCam. This program is free and can flip and rotate your camera output. Also works with Gtalk, Skype, and other programs.

Known Asus laptop models with this issue:
G50VT-X, G51Jx, W7J, G1S,X70AS, N50v, M70, Asus X53Ka, N10J, N10jh, K50, K50IE, K50IJ, Asus G50Vt-X1, ASUS laptop G50 vt, Asus K60i, ASUS U50F & K60I (K60IJ), Asus Pro71L notebook, Asus G50vt,asus G50Vt, ASUS N50VC laptop, Asus x59sl,

MY DEAR FRIENDS...SIMPLY GO TO ASUS SITE AND DOWNLOAD WEBCAM DRIVER FOR AN OLDER WINDOWS VERSION...WORKED FOR ME..IM USING WIN 7 AND DOWNLOADED WIN VISTA WEBCAM DRIVER

As some of you may notice, this blog post is a number of years old, so the issue and the solutions are probably irrelevant now. If you bump into this problem still, yes, try a new driver from the Asus site first. Otherwise, try the posted solution or the different ones in the comments that worked.

I broke my back trying to fix this a dozen other ways. Manycam seems to be the easy fix. Thanks.
